About Micans

Micans is an independent consulting laboratory with personal customer contacts and good service. Micans offers microbiological laboratory services in medical technology and environmental contexts. The company has extensive expertise and all the equipment required for qualified microbiological laboratory services, tests and analyses. The company's market-leading position is maintained with the help of an advanced and adaptable assignment and analysis laboratory as well as a broad and in-depth theoretical and practical competence of the employees in analysis methods, microorganisms and microbial processes.

What Micans offers its customers and which is unique to Micans is a combination of both practical and theoretical microbiological competence and good insight into the customers' needs. Micans is certified according to the standards ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015. We work systematically with quality and environmental issues throughout our operations, both in assignments and internally. Our quality and environmental work is under constant improvement. Micans laboratory is accredited by Swedac according to ISO/IEC 17025:2018 “General competence requirements for testing and calibration laboratories” with accreditation number 10351

Micans was founded in 2005 by two researchers from the University of Gothenburg and has since developed into an independent company. The company began its operations in rented premises at SIK – the Institute for Food and Biotechnology in Gothenburg. We moved to newly built premises in Mölnlycke Fabriker in 2008 and the company now has all its office and laboratory operations there.
